Blaire Terms of Service
Last updated: October 18, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Timothy Iyere, the individual developer who publishes Blaire ("Blaire", "we", "us", "our"). They cover the Blaire iOS app (the "App"), our website at blaireapp.com, our invite pages at links.blaireapp.com, and everything we offer through them (together, the "Services"). By downloading the App, creating an account, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
Blaire is not a bank, lender, broker, or financial advisor. Blaire does not hold, move, lend, or advance money, and cannot make a payment or transfer for you. Your bank connection is read-only. Everything Blaire shows you is information, not instruction.

1. Who can use Blaire
To use Blaire you must be at least 18 years old, live in the United States, be able to form a binding contract, and not be barred from using the Services under any law. By signing up you confirm that you are 18 or older and that you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If we learn that someone under 18 is using Blaire, we will close the account.
The Services are for your own personal, non-commercial use. Blaire is available on iPhone only, and some features may not be available everywhere in the US or at all times.
2. Your account
2.1 Signing up. Blaire starts you with a temporary account so you can try onboarding before committing. It becomes a permanent account when you sign up with Apple or Google. If you start onboarding and do not finish, what you entered is kept for up to 30 days so you can pick up where you left off, and is then deleted.
2.2 Accurate information. Please give us accurate information, including the income and bills you confirm, and keep it up to date. Blaire's numbers come from what you tell it and from the accounts you connect, so if those are wrong, the numbers will be too.
2.3 Keeping it secure. Your account is for you only. Keep your Apple or Google sign-in safe, and tell us at founders@blaireapp.com if you think someone else has used your Blaire account. If you think someone has reached a bank account you connected, contact your bank directly: Blaire cannot stop, reverse, or freeze anything at your bank. We may suspend access if we believe an account is being misused or was accessed without permission.
3. What Blaire does
Blaire helps you spend on purpose and stash toward a goal, with spend zones, goals, the purchase scanner, and more. Some features are free and some need Blaire Pro; the App shows what each plan includes. Features may change over time (Section 20).
Blaire has no ads. The core stashing experience is free.
Demo mode. If you use Blaire without connecting a bank, the figures you see are sample data, not your money.
When a stash is just a record. When you "add to stash" in Blaire, you are recording money you set aside yourself. Blaire does not move it.
4. Blaire Pro subscriptions, free trials, and offers
4.1 Plans and prices. Blaire Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly. Plans may include a free trial or an introductory price for people who are eligible. The price, billing period, any trial or offer, and what happens after it are shown to you before you confirm. Prices are in US dollars and may not include tax.
4.2 Introductory offers. Apple decides who is eligible for a free trial or introductory price. Generally, you can get only one introductory offer per subscription group.
4.3 Apple bills you, not us. You buy Blaire Pro through the Apple App Store. Apple charges the payment method on your Apple Account, under Apple's terms. We never see your card or bank details for the subscription; we only check with Apple whether your subscription is active.
4.4 Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. Apple charges your account within the 24 hours before the period ends. If you start a free trial and do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, your paid subscription starts and you are charged. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused part of the trial ends when you buy.
4.5 Cancelling. Cancel in your Apple Account's subscription settings (on your iPhone: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions). Blaire's Profile tab has a shortcut there. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, then return to the free tier. Your data stays, and Pro features stop. Deleting the app or your Blaire account does not cancel your subscription.
4.6 Refunds. Because Apple takes the payment, refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies, and we cannot issue them. You can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you think something went wrong, email founders@blaireapp.com and we will help where we can.
4.7 Restoring purchases. If you reinstall Blaire or move to a new device, use "Restore purchases" in Profile.
4.8 Price changes. If we change a price, we will tell you before it applies, and Apple will ask for your agreement where its rules require. You can always cancel instead. We may also test other prices or offers; anything you are offered is shown before you buy.
5. Connecting your bank
5.1 How it works. You connect your accounts through Plaid, which handles the connection and your bank sign-in. You never give your bank login to Blaire, and we never see or store it.
5.2 It is read-only. Blaire receives account details, balances, and transactions. It cannot move money, make a payment, start a transfer, or change anything at your bank. When Blaire suggests stashing an amount, it is a suggestion you act on yourself.
5.3 Your permission. By connecting an account, you authorize Blaire to get that information through Plaid on your behalf, and you authorize your bank and Plaid to share it with us. Plaid's End User Privacy Policy (plaid.com/legal) applies to Plaid's part. You can disconnect at any time in Profile.
5.4 Accuracy. We show you the most recent information we received, which may leave out pending activity or be delayed. We do not check your bank data for accuracy and are not responsible for it. Blaire also judges which deposits are dependable income, which charges are recurring bills, and which zone a purchase belongs in; those judgments can be wrong, and you can correct them.
6. The scanner, chat, and other AI features
6.1 How they work. The scanner, chat, the restaurant planner, and some sorting features use an AI model from a third party (currently Google). When you use them, the content needed for that feature is sent to the provider, as our Privacy Policy describes. We never send your bank sign-in.
6.2 The scanner is advisory. A scan estimates a price and tells you how it sits against what you can safely spend this week, and what any part you cannot cover would mean for your goal. It is an estimate and a suggestion, never an instruction or an approval. Prices, product matches, cheaper alternatives, and store distances can be wrong, out of date, or missing. Blaire does not buy or block anything. The choice is yours.
6.3 Chat suggests; you decide. Chat can suggest changes to your zones. It never makes them on its own. The app works out the numbers, shows them to you, and applies a change only when you tap to confirm.
6.4 The planner. Restaurant suggestions, prices, and details come from Google and may be wrong or out of date. Check with the restaurant before you go. Blaire is not responsible for any business it suggests.
6.5 AI can be wrong. AI-generated answers, estimates, and suggestions may be inaccurate or incomplete, and are not facts about your money, guarantees, or advice (Section 15). Please use your own judgment.
6.6 Limits. We limit how often the scanner, chat, and planner can be used, both as part of each plan and to protect the Services from abuse. We may change those limits.
7. Shared events, Packs, and quests
7.1 Shared events. You can create an event and share an invite link. Anyone with the link can see the event's occasion, place, time, the host's first name, and guests' first names and RSVPs, and can RSVP on the web by typing a first name. Only share the link with people you want to see it. If you add a photo to an invite, it can be seen by anyone with the link, and a picture sent in Messages cannot be recalled. The host can manage who is on the guest list.
7.2 Packs. Packs are weekly groups of people stashing toward similar goals, with a leaderboard. Other members see your level, weekly XP, and rank, and your name and photo only if you choose to show them. Pack placement and rewards are for fun, have no cash value, and may change.
7.3 Quests and rewards. Quests, XP, levels, costumes, and other rewards have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may change or end.
7.4 Be kind. In anything other people can see (event names, first names, invite photos, your profile name and photo), do not post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, or that you do not have the right to share, and do not pretend to be someone else. We may remove content or close accounts that break these rules. To report a problem with an event, a Pack, or another user, use Profile > Help center in the App, or email founders@blaireapp.com. We review every report.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of what you add to Blaire: photos, goal names, notes, event details, messages, and feedback. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, copy, and display it only as needed to run the Services for you, including showing it to the people you share it with (Section 7). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people already received (such as an invite picture sent in Messages). You confirm you have the right to add what you add, and that it breaks no law and no one else's rights. We may check, rebuild, resize, refuse, or remove any image or content. Stock photos come from Unsplash, and their photographer credit must stay visible.
Copyright complaints. If you believe something on Blaire infringes your copyright, email founders@blaireapp.com with: your contact details, the work you say is infringed, where it appears in Blaire, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove the content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
9. Notifications and messages from us
9.1 Push notifications. With your permission, Blaire sends notifications, for example when a zone is running low, when your zones are refreshed, when a bill is due, or about your streak. You can change them in Profile or your iPhone settings. We try to make notifications accurate and on time, but we do not guarantee them; please do not rely on them.
9.2 Electronic communications. You agree that we may send notices, disclosures, and other communications electronically, in the App, by push, or by email, and that they count as "in writing". To receive them you need a compatible device and a working email address. You can withdraw this consent by emailing founders@blaireapp.com, but we may then need to close your account, since Blaire is only offered electronically.
10. Beta versions and feedback
Beta or test versions (for example through TestFlight) may be incomplete, unstable, or wrong, and are provided for testing. Our Privacy Policy explains what a bug report includes. Please do not put anything in a report you would not want us to see. If you send ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
11. Rules for using Blaire
You agree not to:
- break any law, or use Blaire for anyone else or for a business
- give false information, or pretend to be someone else
- try to get into another person's account or data
- get around our security, usage limits, plan limits, or payments
- copy, scrape, or reverse engineer the Services, their prompts, or their models, except where the law allows
- overload our systems or our providers' systems, including by automating requests to the scanner, chat, or planner
- upload malware or anything meant to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any system or data
- harass or threaten anyone, including our team and other users
12. Third-party services
Blaire relies on other companies, including Apple (App Store, sign-in, and payments), Google (sign-in, AI, and maps), Plaid, and our hosting, subscription, notification, and photo providers. Their own terms and policies apply to the parts they provide, and we are not responsible for their services. In particular:
- Plaid: your use of Plaid is subject to the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps Platform: restaurant results come from Google. By using the planner you agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service (maps.google.com/help/terms_maps.html) and the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
- Unsplash: photos are provided under the Unsplash License, credited to their photographers.
- OpenStreetMap: nearby-store data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.
Links to outside websites (for example a store or a photographer's page) are for your convenience; we do not control those sites.
13. Our intellectual property
The Services and everything in them (the software, text, designs, graphics, the Blaire name, and Blaire the cat in every pose and expression) belong to us or our licensors. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple's rules (Section 19). You may not copy, change, sell, or use our name, mascot, or content without our written permission. We keep all rights we do not expressly give you.
14. Ending your use of Blaire
14.1 You can leave at any time. Delete your account from the Profile tab or by emailing founders@blaireapp.com. This removes your Blaire data as our Privacy Policy describes, and disconnects your bank at Plaid. It does not cancel Blaire Pro (Section 4.5).
14.2 We may suspend or close accounts if you break these Terms, if we need to for legal or security reasons, or if we stop offering the Services. Where reasonable we will tell you first. If we stop offering Blaire entirely, we will give you notice where we can. Refund requests for Blaire Pro go through Apple, as described in Section 4.6.
14.3 What survives. Sections 8 (the license to content others already received), and 13 to 24 continue after your account ends.
15. No financial, legal, or tax advice
BLAIRE DOES NOT GIVE FINANCIAL, INVESTMENT, LEGAL, OR TAX ADVICE, AND IS NOT A FIDUCIARY. EVERYTHING BLAIRE SHOWS OR SENDS YOU (ZONE CAPS, SAFE-TO-SPEND, GOAL PACE AND DATES, SCANNER RESULTS, CHAT AND PLANNER ANSWERS, INSIGHTS, AND NOTIFICATIONS) IS GENERAL INFORMATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT BASED ON THE DATA YOU PROVIDED. IT IS NOT A RECOMMENDATION ABOUT WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR MONEY. FOR ADVICE ABOUT YOUR SITUATION, TALK TO A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL. DECISIONS ABOUT YOUR MONEY ARE YOURS.
16. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE AND OUR OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS (THE "BLAIRE PARTIES") MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND NO PROMISE THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANYTHING THEY PRODUCE (INCLUDING ZONE CAPS, SAFE-TO-SPEND, INCOME AND BILL DETECTION, CATEGORIES, SCANNER ESTIMATES, AI ANSWERS, AND NOTIFICATIONS) WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
We do not guarantee any financial result. We do not promise that you will reach a goal or reach it by a certain date, stay inside a zone, avoid an overdraft or fee, or set aside any amount.
Some places do not allow these disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.
17. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, THE BLAIRE PARTIES ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. THIS INCLUDES ANY OVERDRAFT, INSUFFICIENT-FUNDS, LATE, OR OTHER FEE OR INTEREST CHARGED BY YOUR BANK OR ANYONE ELSE, ANY PURCHASE YOU MAKE OR DO NOT MAKE, AND ANY GOAL YOU DO NOT REACH.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR BLAIRE PRO IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) US $100.
SOME PLACES DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITS, SO SOME MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.
18. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Blaire Parties from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Services, your content, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone's rights. We may take over the defense of any such claim, and you agree to cooperate.
19. The App Store: terms required by Apple
These terms apply because you got Blaire from Apple's App Store. They follow Apple's "Minimum Terms of Developer's End-User License Agreement" (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/minterms/). If they conflict with anything else in these Terms, this section wins.
19.1 Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content. These Terms cannot give you usage rules for the App that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
19.2 Scope of license. Your license to the App is limited and non-transferable: you may use it on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that other accounts linked to the purchaser through Family Sharing or volume purchasing may also access it.
19.3 Maintenance and support. We alone are responsible for any maintenance and support for the App, as stated in these Terms or as the law requires. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
19.4 Warranty. We are responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent they are not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App (if any) to you. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses from any failure to meet a warranty are our responsibility, to the extent these Terms do not disclaim them.
19.5 Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party about the App or your possession or use of it, including (a) product liability claims, (b) any claim that the App fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and (c) claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws. These Terms do not limit our liability to you beyond what the law allows.
19.6 Intellectual property claims. If a third party claims that the App, or your possession and use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and resolving that claim.
19.7 Legal compliance. You confirm that (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo or that the US Government has designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and (b) you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
19.8 Developer name and address. Questions, complaints, or claims about the App go to: Timothy Iyere, founders@blaireapp.com.
19.9 Third-party terms. You must follow any third-party agreements that apply when you use the App (for example, your wireless data plan).
19.10 Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
20. Changes to the Services and these Terms
We may add, change, or remove features, and may change these Terms. When we change these Terms we will post the new version and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the App or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Blaire after a change takes effect, you accept it. If you do not agree, please stop using Blaire and delete your account. Changes to Section 21 will not apply to a dispute we already knew about before the change.
21. Resolving disputes: arbitration and class action waiver
21.1 Talk to us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly. Before starting any formal claim, email founders@blaireapp.com with your name, how to reach you, what happened, and what you would like us to do. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 60 days, and both of us agree to that step before filing anything. Deadlines to file are paused during those 60 days.
21.2 Agreement to arbitrate. If we cannot resolve it, you and we agree to resolve any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Services through final, binding arbitration on an individual basis, under the Federal Arbitration Act. Arbitration will be run by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (adr.org), in the county where you live or by video or phone, and claims of $25,000 or less may be decided on written submissions. The arbitrator can award the same individual relief a court could. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court. Either of us may also ask a court to stop the misuse of intellectual property.
21.3 Fees. If you start arbitration, you will not pay more in filing fees than you would to file in court, and we will pay the rest of the administrator's fees the rules require of us. Each side pays its own lawyers unless the law or the arbitrator says otherwise.
21.4 No class actions. YOU AND WE MAY BRING CLAIMS ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS, NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. Unless both of us agree, an arbitrator may not combine more than one person's claims. If this paragraph is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim goes to court, not arbitration.
21.5 Opting out. You can reject this arbitration agreement by emailing founders@blaireapp.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name, the email on your Blaire account, and a clear statement that you are opting out of arbitration. Opting out does not change anything else in these Terms.
21.6 If arbitration does not apply. Any dispute not decided by arbitration will be decided only in the state or federal courts located in the State of Texas, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.
22. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the Federal Arbitration Act and the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of the state where you live requires otherwise.
23. General terms
These Terms (with our Privacy Policy) are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part, we have not given up the right to later. You may not transfer these Terms without our permission; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Nothing here creates a partnership, employment, or agency relationship. Headings are for convenience. We are not responsible for delays caused by things outside our reasonable control.
California users. Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.
